There is a deep need in the soul

To know, and to consume that knowing

In all of our being,

And be content in it.

We are not pieces haphazardly strewn about

Or compartmentally placed together, even if that is our preference.

We are whole and intrinsically woven.

Slowly, we can be rewoven.

Although we are not simply parts that make up a whole,

We can’t escape the reality that we presently are.

The glorious good news is that is not the only truth.

We can be made whole.

There is a light that shines in the darkness

Of our own souls and of the surrounding everything

That is not content with leaving things as they are,

Us included.

But we cannot overlook the darkness that is present

In both our own souls and the surrounding everything.

To do so is to give up, or worse, to give in.

What do we hope for?
